In his role as a performance artist, he draws on all types of media to create his performances. “Taming fire” - is another monumental work, that began in 2006 until present. It combines performance art and fire drawings. The art of “Taming fire” is a running theme in Igor Josifov’s art. The magic of fire has been a fascination for quite some time. That fascination turns into a driving force that forms a landmark traveling solo exhibitions. Fire in our minds remains the most devastating force in nature; however, when viewing these body of work, one is swept by Josifov’s power to transcend our thoughts to renewal and rebirth. The success of “Taming fire” is the artist’s personal triumph. Igor Josifov participated at the VIII International Biennale of Contemporary Art in Uzbekistan upon an invitation from the European Cultural Center - Russia. In Tashkent Josifov presented two projects. At the State Museum of Arts of Uzbekistan where he presented his installation 'Becoming Clear | Crushing Glass', while at the National Gallery of the Arts of Uzbekistan he performed 'Fire Within'.
